Infant Transport Incubator (Ambulance Incubator)

Neonatal incubator transport:  Assisting babies in overcoming a difficult start in life

The Infant Transport Incubator is designed to circulate warm air at a temperature set by the operator while transporting preterm infants in severe condition to hospitals by ambulance, where they will be prepared for neonatal intensive care by experienced specialists. The Transport Incubator includes a retractable infant tray to help with resuscitation during transport, as well as an inbuilt battery backup that lasts 4 hours and works in both AC and DC currents.

What is Infant Transport Incubator?

For the past 45 years, Infant transport incubators have been a staple of the newborn transport industry. nice 3000 Transport incubators can be customised for any mission, whether it’s a vital aeromedical transport or a simple back transport of a healthy newborn.

Premature babies and other ill infants are transported in newborn transport incubators from one hospital to another, such as a medical centre with a neonatal intensive care unit and other services. Transportable intensive care incubators equipped with mechanical ventilators, infusion pumps, and physiological monitors that may be used in a mobile environment are employed by neonatal transport incubator services.

These portable incubators are designed to resemble the environment of a newborn intensive care unit, allowing for continuous care in a referring hospital and subsequently on the road or by air ambulance.

Transfer to a specialist centre is often crucial for survival when a newborn is premature and has major health problems. Because these newborns or babies are already fragile by nature, their health becomes even more hazardous when they become ill. The most difficult aspect of critical care in this situation is transferring the newborn without exposing them to the environment’s temperature gradient. A neonatal transport incubator allows newborns to be transported to a location where they will get the best possible care. Whether you’re in another city, on another continent, or returning from a trip with a little infant, PEDIATRIC AIR AMBULANCE provides incubator travel specifically designed for premature and newborn babies.

Technological advancements:

An intensive care nursery (ICN), also known as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), is an intensive care unit (ICU) that specialises in the care of sick or premature newborn infants. The first 28 days of life are referred to as neonatal. Neonatal care, often known as specialist nurseries or intensive care, is a type of care provided to newborns. One or more neonatologists usually supervise the NICU, which is staffed by resident physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physician assistants, respiratory therapists, and dietitians. At larger units, several other supplementary disciplines and specialists are available.

At the Level III NICU, a fully equipped mobile intensive care unit for neonates was used. As technology improved, monitoring and therapy for neonates became more hospital-based. Although transport incubators were still required, the emergency ambulance ride from home to the NICU with the newborn in a transport incubator was no longer necessary. The new incubator system is a fantastic addition to the programme, allowing the team to provide extra care to those newborns who need it. The fully equipped Infant Transport Incubator allows us to give a comprehensive range of medical intensive care to severely ill babies who must be transported between hospitals in a safe, comfortable, and secure manner.

The Incubator is also used to transport newborns to specialised procedures and to transfer babies back to their local hospitals in preparation for discharge.

How It Works:

The essential mechanism of both the transport and intensive care incubators is the same. A lot of thought has gone into making ensuring the device is light and tiny, which makes it easier to move around. To offer a closed environment for the infant, a baby tray is present on a trolley that is covered by a fibre glass or acrylic construction. Medical personnel can access the baby at any time, and separate apertures are given to insert oxygen tubes and other medical equipment. The desired temperature can be selected, and the temperature of the baby’s skin as well as the temperature of the surrounding surroundings is displayed on the given screen.

The airflow can be controlled with a knob, and these systems include an alarm to draw attention to any unfavourable circumstances, such as a temperature rise. The inclusion of an external portable power source (placed on the transport incubator trolley) makes the instrument work when it is moved, which is the main difference from an intensive care incubator. These equipment can also be powered by ambulance electricity.

What happens with an incubator transport?

Ambulance will prepare the quickest and safest journey to the paediatric hospital once we know which one will accept the babies traetment. Our neonatal transport incubators can be transported in a specially equipped mobile intensive care ambulance (MICA), or by rescue helicopter or medical aircraft. The mode of transportation you choose is determined by the weather, the distances involved, the situations at the origin and destination, and, most importantly, the health of your infant. We have the ability to transport people and goods anywhere in the world at any time.

Our Infant Transport Incubator – nice 3000 ORCHID

Your child will receive the same degree of treatment in ambulances and aircraft as he or she would in an intensive care unit at a university hospital. We have the most up-to-date neonatal incubators, which are capable of transporting even the tiniest newborn babies. We can target an intervention if issues arise thanks to the closest possible monitoring of all key organs. Because premature babies’ lungs are frequently undeveloped, they may require the use of a ventilator.

Our newborn incubator travel incubator is specifically built for flexible deployment and provides good connectivity options with the following features and devices:

Microprocessor Controlled System with Servo Air and Servo Skin Modes of operation.

Displays  Air / Skin Temperature simultaneously with Set temperature

Feather Touch operation with large digital display and comprehensive alarms

Memory backup to restore set temperature and control mode automatically in the event of power failure

An integral and withdrawable Mattress tray to aid resuscitation during transport Internal battery Backup for 4 hours minimum. Operates both on AC and DC currents, with visual indication for battery power status and power sources

Collapsible stainless steel trolley with shock absorbers

Dual Thermistor Temperature Probes, with accuracy of +0.2°C, to minimize down time and ensure accuracy. Probe interchangeable without calibration

A, 2D (or) 2E tank mounting facility to mount gas cylinders

Unimpeded access to the patient with frontal access and a minimum of 2 access ports and three elbow operated ports

Easy to clean and disinfect

High Intensity LED light for observation

Comprehensive alarms: Air Temp. Low / High, Skin Temp. Low / High, Sensor Failure, Low Battery, Heater Failure, Power Failure, Air Flow Failure, Temperature > 39 ° C

Automatic Heater cut off if air / skin temperature inside the incubator exceeds 39° C

Accessories: Auxiliary Tray for placing additional equipment

A specially trained neonatal transport team monitors your baby

Your infant is monitored by a specially trained neonatal transport team.

The anatomy of a child – particularly that of a newborn baby or infant – differs dramatically from that of an adult, necessitating not only specialised equipment but also specialised training and, most crucially, extensive expertise in the intensive care treatment of preterm and newborn babies. The neonatal transport team that takes you in an emergency is only dedicated to this medical specialty and receives ongoing training. At least one critical care paediatric doctor and one intensive care nurse with neonatal experience will be present during the transport.

Additional experts will be included for extraordinary circumstances, such as when paediatric cardiology, neurosurgery, general surgery, or ENT findings are discovered.
